How do different house lords of the horoscopes behave when they are in the 1st house or Ascendant? An astrological academic and analytical article.

JAI MATA DI –

When the 1st Lord or the Lagna Lord in the 1st it provides the native with good health, but may make a native too self-conscious.

When the 2nd lord is in the first house, it may make a native attached to his parental family, but always concerned about finances.

The 3rd lord in the Lagna brings effort in the life of the native and gain to the immediate youngest sibling of the native.

If the 4th lord is in the Lagna may give attachment of the native toward the mother, property, and home sickness. This is a Raj Yoga.

When the 5th lord is in the Lagna, the native may be too caring for his children, religious-minded, speculative, romantic, a believer of Purvapunya, rebirths, etc. Such a native may fall in love, leading to a successful marriage with the loved one. This is a Raj Yoga.

When the 6th lord is in the Lagna brings challenges and struggle in life, besides chronic diseases. The maternal relations may be harmed.

When the 7th lord is in the Lagna, such a native may be interested and involved in networking, liaisoning, partnership, and rapport building, but may be a person of questionable character. This is a Raj Yoga since the Kendra Lord is in the Trikone and a yoga for multiple relationships.

The 8th lord in the Lagna has not been praised in Vedic Astrology, with the exception that such a person may be inclined to go deep into any subject. The 8th lord in the first house may bring long-term challenges and struggles in life, with undiagnosed and uncurable diseases.

When the 9th lord is in the Lagna, it may enhance the luck of the person. The father of the native may be a person of knowledge and wisdom, and may be emotionally attached to the native. The native may be religious, may perform long-distance pilgrimages, with high degrees of qualification like the Masters or doctorate degrees.

The 10th lord in the Lagna may add purity to the Karma and is a Raj Yoga. Such a native may be a workaholic and a perfectionist in his work. The native may undergo several in-service training in the institutes of repute and may obtain professional qualifications as may be required in his profession.

The 11th lord in the first house may provide materialistic gain, but along with it may give diseases and a life full of effort and engagements.

When the 12th lord in the Lagna may provide interest of the person to foreigners and foreign countries, a person in the quest of discoveries, seclusion, and may build a temple or Ashram.

These are the tentative results of the lords of the different houses in the Lagna.

Let us examine the above conditions in the Horoscope of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, who had many planets in his first house.

His Lagna is occupied by the Sun, the Lagna Lord, Jupiter, the 5th lord, the Moon, the 12th lord, Venus, the 3rd & the 10th lord, and Mercury, the 2nd & the 11th lord.

Out of the 5 planets in the Lagna, four are natural benefics, and the Sun is the Lagna Lord, making the Lagna, representing the native, exponentially strong. He was good-looking with a proportionate and glamorous body.

The Lagna Lord, the Sun, in the Lagna made him a bit self-centred because immediately after the death of his mother, he occupied the chair of the Prime Minister of India without any fuss by sidelining the other claimants in the line, like Indira loyalist Pranab Mukherjee.

The planets in his Lagna in the descending order are the Sun, the Lagna Lord in the Lagna, Jupiter & Mercury in the directional strength in the Lagna.

He married a foreigner because the 12th lord, the Moon, has been aspecting the 7th house.

There are several Raj Yogas in the Lagna involving the Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury, with the Moon playing the role of Yoga Bhanga being the 12th lord. The Moon is, however, weak in the Paksha Bala.
