Muhurta Astrology, or Elective Astrology, determines the auspicious time to start an event. We often consult astrologers to elect an auspicious time for marriage, for house-warming (Griha Pravesh), naming the children (Naamkaran), applying for a job, starting a business, and on many more occasions, paying them hefty fees.

Today, I am sharing a technique you can apply to select an auspicious time from the comfort of your home. The technique is the Binna Asthak Varga of the Lagna. The feature is available in all astrological software, paid or free.

Work out the Binna Asthak Varga (BAV) of the Lagna according to your place of birth and the date and time at which you propose to start an event. If the Karaka Bhava (significant house) in the BAV of the Lagna contains the maximum “Points” (7 – 8), the Lagna raised at that particular two-hour time span is the perfect time to commence the desired work. If not, go to the next Lagna rising time and so on. The technique is highly effective since it is synced to the Lagna.

Let us take an example and try to clear the gamut. Suppose you want to submit an application via online mode for a job on 28 February 2026. There will be 12 Lagna rising on that day (12 x 2 = 24 hours), and your birthplace is Delhi, India, with the 10^th house of profession of your horoscope being Pisces. Cast 12 horoscopes in advance whenever there is a change in the Lagna on 28 February 2026, with Delhi as the birthplace and keep them with you. Whenever in the 10^th house of Pisces, in the Binna Ashtak Varga (BAV) of Lagna, there will be the highest points, say 7 – 8 on 28 February 2026, that particular two-hour time span will be auspicious for you to apply for the job. Try the technique and comment.

HOROSCOPE OF SMT. INDIRA GANDHI, a former Prime Minister of India.

Her birthplace is Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, with Cancer as the Lagna.

Shri Rajiv Gandhi was born to her on 20 August 1944 at 8:10:40 hours when she was hospitalised (12^th house signification) at Cumballa Hill Hospital in Mumbai (as per Google search). Let us cast the BAV horoscope of 8:10:40 hours with Allahabad as the place since Smt. Indira Gandhi’s birthplace is Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Now, observe that in her horoscope, the 12^th house of hospitalisation is Gemini, having the highest “7” BAV points, clearly indicating that she was hospitalised at the time of the birth of Rajiv Gandhi.

In her horoscope, the 5^th house of childbirth is Scorpio, which scored the 2^nd highest BAV points, clearly indicating that the hospitalisation was due to the childbirth. Just see how fantastic the technique is. No need for analysis and no need of applying brain, the numbers tell you everything.
